First and First Again

They did it! Democrat Elizabeth Warren ousted Republican incumbent Sen. Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate, making her the first woman Senator from Massachusetts. Her acceptance speech is a tearjerker. Listen to it here.

Another first came about in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Democratic Representative Tammy Baldwin made history on Tuesday with her election to become the first openly gay U.S. senator, defeating former Gov. Tommy Thompson in the most expensive Senate race in state history.

I am so proud of the people in these two states for their forward thinking.
